The 2024 Grand American once again transformed the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta, Illinois into the biggest stage in trapshooting. With thousands of shooters enduring scorching prelim days and then steady mid-80s weather for Grand Week, the event delivered everything from marathon shootoffs to Cinderella stories.

Monday – Winchester Singles Class Championship

  • 1,712 entries and 35 perfect 200s kicked off Grand Week.

  • Patrick Stacy (OK) outlasted the AAA field, while Leticia Slinker (NV) posted her first-ever 200 straight to win Lady I.

  • Other winners included Michael Lombardy (MA, AA), Thomas Kleyla (IN, A), and Carson Sievers (IL, Sub Junior).

Tuesday – President’s Handicap & Wenig Doubles

  • Six shooters tied with 99s in the President Billy Cook Handicap, with Daniel Fadden (NY) taking Champion.

  • The Wenig Doubles Class Championship saw only eight 100s, with Wyatt Debrie (NE, Sub Junior) and Daniel Bryant (NE, Sub Vet) among the winners.

Wednesday – Champion of Champions & Challenger Handicap

  • Peter Walker (MN) won the Champion of Champions with a perfect 100. Hannah Hopson (MO) led Lady I, while Grady Fallert (MO) claimed Sub Junior.

  • Patrick Lamont (MB) topped the Challenger Handicap with a 99, edging Curtis Lunsford (IN) and Ethan Ferris (WV).

Thursday – ATA Clay Target Championship

  • A staggering 37 perfect 200s filled the board. Junior shooter Leo Brand (MN) prevailed after shootoffs, with Patrick Stacy (OK) finishing runner-up.

  • Carson Sievers (IL) ran 200 to win Sub Junior, while Katie Gilbertson (IL) claimed Lady I.

Friday – ATA Doubles Championship & Caesar Guerini Handicap

  • Only five perfect scores in the Doubles Championship, with Logan Henry (AR) taking Champion over Brian Alquist (CA).

  • In the Caesar Guerini Preliminary Handicap, Dagen Voigtman (NE) outlasted Junior Kyle Fabisiak (IL) after both posted 98s.

Saturday – Grand American Handicap

  • Junior shooter Leo Brand (MN) stole the spotlight again, posting the lone 99 to win the Grand American Handicap outright.

  • John Zeigler (TN) finished runner-up with 98, while Ryan Glow (NE) and Sean Hawley (UT) followed with 97s.

  • High All Around (HAA): Ryan Glow (NE) – 397×400.

  • 1000 HOA (Prize Possessions): Patrick Lamont (MB) – 984×1000.
