Recap: 2023 Wisconsin State Shoot – Nekoosa, Wisconsin
The 2023 Wisconsin State Shoot was held July 11–16, 2023, at the WTA Homegrounds in Nekoosa, WI. With 30 traps, a growing facility, and a friendly summer atmosphere, this shoot continues to be one of the Midwest’s premier trapshooting events.
Early Week Highlights

Eau Claire Rod & Gun Club Doubles (Wednesday): Cody Barwick led Wisconsin shooters with a perfect 100 to win Junior. Non-residents Keith Ditto, Raylee Bishop, Dagen Voigtman, and Mark Zauhar also posted 100s for category wins.

Elite Shotguns President’s Handicap: Brianna Thompson scored high in tough conditions.

YZ’s “We Want Your Body” Singles: 22 shooters posted 100s, including Bob Sylla (AA), Sandra Jo Jack (Lady II), and Sage McKeough (Junior).
Midweek Action

White Flyer Singles Class (Thursday): 40 shooters ran 100s out of 486 entries. Tyler Buchanan won AAA after carryover, Joseph Schepper AA, and Richard Marshall Jr. topped Non-Resident AAA.

White Flyer Handicap: Chad Blanke broke 99 and won a shootoff over Kenneth Sue. Garrett Helms (IL) ran a back-fence 100 for Non-Resident Champion.

Davis Construction Doubles Class: Buchanan and Schepper led Wisconsin, while Ditto and Marshall went overtime for Non-Resident AAA, with Ditto winning.
Championship Weekend

Ho Chunk Doubles (Friday): Cody Barwick won after a shootoff with Logan Denman. Non-resident Dagan Voigtman topped a field of seven 100s to take the open crown.

Kyle Sacia Memorial Handicap: Dan Haag posted 99 for Wisconsin Champion. Peter Walker (MN) broke his first-ever 100 from the 27-yard line to win Non-Resident.

Kolar Arms Singles Championship (Saturday): Tyler Buchanan smashed 200 to claim the in-state crown outright. Richard Marshall Jr. won Non-Resident with a 200 after a 3-round shootoff.

Recob Target Shop Handicap Championship (Sunday): Chris Warrington won with a 98, edging Lawrence Kosmeder. Junior Jaxson Wilson (IL) ran 100 to earn the Non-Resident title.
High Awards

High All Around (HAA): Cody Barwick – 394×400.

High Over All (HOA): Cody Barwick – 1067×1100.
Non-resident Dagan Voigtman swept both HAA (398) and HOA (1090).
